Anand Niketanites are expected to have the right attitude towards learning and be disciplined. All Anand Niketanites are expected to know and apply five basic principles that will help them to achieve a high standard of personal discipline.

These principles are:

  • Follow Rules – Rules must be followed, otherwise chaos will reign.
  • Show Respect – Anand Niketanites must respect themselves, their families, the school and the community.
  • Take Responsibility – Anand Niketanites must bear responsibility for their own actions and be accountable. Anand Niketanites must know that any irresponsible act has consequences not only to themselves but also to others.
  • Build Relationships - Anand Niketanites must build good relationships with family members, teachers, friends and other Anand Niketanites. Good relationships help to bond people together and create mutual understanding and support.
  • Practice Reflection - When mistakes (offences) are committed, Anand Niketanites must reflect and learn from them. Anand Niketanites must be able to go through process of self – reflection and learn not to repeat the same mistake or offence.

If I am positive and do as requested,

I can expect praise.

If I am disruptive in any way,

I must accept the consequences.



Students are not allowed to distribute sweets, chocolates or any other individual gifts to their classmates or teachers. However, they may bring a potted plant or a book for the class library. 



Every person at AMAN should be treated with respect. Nobody should be bullied.

Bullying can be:

  • Emotional- being unfriendly, excluding, tormenting (e.g. hiding books, threatening gestures)
  • Physical- pushing, kicking, hitting, punching or any use of violence.
  • Racist- racial taunts, graffiti, gestures.
  • Sexual- unwanted physical contact or sexually abusive comments.
  • Homophobic- because of, or focusing on the issue of sexuality.
  • Verbal- name-calling, sarcasm, spreading rumors, teasing.
  • Cyber- All areas of internet, such as email and internet chat room misuse, Mobile threats by text messaging and calls,   

       misuse of associated technology, i.e. camera and video facilities.



            A child may indicate by signs or behavior that he or she is being bullied. Adults, teachers and parents, should be aware of these possible signs and that they should investigate if a child:

  1. Is frightened of walking to or from school.
  2. Doesn’t want to go on the school/public bus.
  3. Begs to be driven to school.
  4. Changes his/her usual routine.
  5. Is unwilling to go to school (school phobic).
  6. Begins to play truant.
  7. Becomes withdrawn anxious, or lacking in confidence.
  8. Starts stammering.
  9. Attempts or threatens suicide or runs away.
  10. Cries at night or has nightmares.
  11. Feels ill in the morning.
  12. Begins to do poorly in school work all of a sudden.
  13. Comes home with clothes torn or books damaged.
  14. Has possessions which are damaged or “go missing”.
  15. Asks for money or starts stealing money(to pay bully).
  16. Is continually “lost”.
  17. Has unexplained cuts or bruises.
  18. Comes home starving(money/lunch has been stolen).
  19. Becomes aggressive, disruptive or unreasonable.
  20. Is bullying other children or siblings.
  21. Stops eating.
  22. Is frightened to say what’s wrong.
  23. Gives improbable excuses for any of the above.
  24. Is afraid to use the internet or mobile phone.
  25. Is nervous and jumpy when a cyber-message is received.

If you feel you are being bullied, you must take one of the following steps:

  1. Tell your Director
  2. Tell your teacher
  3. Tell your Head boy or Head girl
  4. Inform your parents
  5. Talk to a friend about it


  1. Each student should bring Almanac daily to school with his/her photograph and identification information completed and signed by his/her parent.
  2. No student should damage any school furniture or write anything on the walls or furniture. Concerned student will be required to compensate for the damage.
  3. Expensive & branded pencil boxes, pens, watches & other valuables are strictly not allowed.Simplicity is the hallmark of Anand Niketan.
  4. The school is not responsible for goods lost. It is not advisable to bring valuable articles to school. Kindly label all the belongings clearly.
  5. Parents and guardians shall not visit their wards or teachers in the classrooms, without permission of the authorities.
  6. Both the parents should be present for Portfolios held during the year.
  7. It is compulsory for every student to speak in English in the school campus and also in the school bus.
  8. Mobile phones are not allowed in the school. In case students are found carrying a mobile phone, it will be confiscated by the school authorities for a period of one year from the date of confiscation.
  9. Good manners, habits of obedience and order, neatness in person and dress and punctuality are required at all times.
  10. During work hours, order and silence is to be maintained while around the premises. Running, playing or shouting inside the school building is not allowed.
  11. Students are not permitted to attend the school in casual dress except on Birthdays.
  12. The School shall not entertain any application for change of section/house of any child once allotted in the beginning of the year.
  13. Report cards are liable to be withheld for non-payment of fee.
  14. Activities such as third language, clubs and co-scholastic activities once taken shall not be allowed to be changed during the session.
  15. This being a co-education school, boys are required to have decent behaviour & attitude.
  16. Students shall always greet teachers, elders & friends in a pleasant tone, whenever they meet them in school or outside. It should be remembered that a school is judged by the conduct of its students.

School Lockers

  • Lockers are assigned to each student from Grade-III to XII, so that students can keep their things safely. Responsibility for the loss of personal property lies with the student. School will not compensate for any such losses.]
  • Students who cause damage to their lockers will be charged. Any mechanical problem with the lockers should be reported to the teachers / coordinator.

Identification Card (ID)

  • ID Cards are issued to all the students. This card when asked must be presented to any school employee. Students are expected to bring the ID card in all school related functions. Students who lose the card would be issued a new one after being charged a certain sum.

School Infirmary

  • If a student becomes ill during the day he/she will be taken to the infirmary. In case of prolonged stay in the sickroom, due to illness, parents will be called to school to pick up the student.
  • Students are administered basic first aid for common ailments & minor injuries. In case of any unforeseen emergency, the initial support is provided as per the need & the parents of the concerned child will be informed immediately.

Library & Browsing Room

     The Library is open to all students of the school. Students visiting the Library have to observe the following rules:

  • Only students from Grade 3 onwards will be issued books to take home.
  • Until the previously issued book is returned, an additional book will not be issued.
  • Strict silence must be maintained in the Library.
  • Books damaged while in possession will have to be replaced by the borrower, failing which parents will be billed the cost of replacement.
  • Students are not allowed to bring their personal books or belongings to the Library.
  • The Library has an open access system and the students must help to maintain the order of the books on different shelves.
  • Only 2 books will be issued for a time period of 15 days.
  • A fine of Rs.100/- per week will be charged for late return of book.
